Altogether 16 chamber choirs participated in the competition, and four of the A-level group competed for the Grand Prix. Performances were evaluated by international jury—conductor Hans Joachim Lustig (Germany), music producer Ruta Dambyte (Lithuania), composer Riho-Esko Maimets (Canada/Estonia), singer and vocal teacher Kaia Urb (Estonia) and singer Aarne Talvik (Estonia).
Estonian Chamber Choir Festival has had a long tradition in Estonia, it takes place every second year and brings together the strongest chamber choirs of the country. The first Festival took place in 1986 and that was the first time when Grand Prix went to the Chamber Choir of the University of Tartu. Now is the fourth time when the choir receives this high award.
